What Are We Doing?

Networks

We have created and are registered with several humanitarian and international networks. Through these networks, we are able to send workers into more countries. We are also developing a network for the benefit of expatriate workers. Benefits of this network will include access to medical insurance, counseling, a retirement fund, and work visas. We are hoping to assist many more long-term workers through this new company.

East Asia

Partners in East Asia have opened the opportunity to spread the Gospel to people groups who have never had access to it. Some of the work that Hillside has taken part here is the building and Reconstructing of schools, Distributing school books to Children, and developing relationships with Asian seminary students. An effective way that the Gospel is administered to the people of East Asia is also through Bible story-telling events. The long-term partnerships we have in East Asia have given thousands of people the chance to know Christ for the first time in the history of the world.

Mexico

Hillside Missions Organization founded and administers the School of Missions Mobilization in Matachi, Chihuahua, Mexico. We enjoy the support of many local churches and several denominations in the area. Our main objective is to equip Latin Americans to establish Christian community among unreached people groups. The school’s inauguration was in March 2007.

We are accepting applications for students, volunteer instructors, translators, and visitors to encourage and support the project.
We also work to provide medical care and aide to the people in the surrounding area of Matachi.
We have hosted many short-term trips to Matachi with various groups and churches who have helped in one or more of the following ways: building construction and painting, Bible story-telling in surrounding towns, support for vision clinics, dental clinics, English camps, children’s outreach, school supply and grocery distribution, orphanage sponsorship and support, and sports outreach.

Present Update:
Our first generation of students graduated at the end of March 2009! They are working in ministry with various organizations. Our directors have also completed their two-year commitment and will be transitioning to another ministry. Our new directors started in June 2009, and we are still accepting applications for new students, interpreters, and teachers.

Central Asia

Our focus here has been to partner and support long-term workers and organizations working to establish Christian community. They are planting churches and Christian community among Muslims who have never before had access to the gospel. Programs include digging wells, administering a Bible school, managing a healthcare clinic, and feeding malnourished babies. They are also offering curriculum for pastoral ministry, agriculture, and healthcare.

Iraq

On July 27, 2007, a delegation of six Christian Americans were welcomed by the Iraqi government to pray for the nation in the name of Jesus Christ. Hillside was represented in this group. Our goal has been to influence the government to protect the rights of religious minorities, which includes Christians.

Present Update:
We are currently advocating a Cultural Exchange for Baghdad Youth program. Our goal is to provide school-aged children in Baghdad a trip to the United States to learn about American culture through the lens of American Christian families. There are currently about 14 students enrolled as the first generation of the program. We are currently working in colaboration with the Iraqi Ministry of Human Rights to make the program a reality. There are numerous ways to support, and be a part of this project. Ask us how!
